Body Construction Integrity Warranty

For Auto-Trail vehicles from 2012 model year

 On all new Auto-Trail and subsequent brand Motorhomes and vans sold to final customers and registered in the United Kingdom, Auto-Trail VR Ltd offers a 10 year Body Construction Integrity Warranty under the following terms and conditions:

Years 1 to 5:

During the first 5 years, the warranty ensures the full coverage of all encountered water ingress issues or defects i.e 100% of the material and labour necessary to carry out repairs agreed on by Auto-Trail VR Ltd with prior approval. For panel vans, the warranty does not cover the chassis, but does cover every converter cut aperture.

Years 6 to 10:

From year 6 to year 10, the warranty covers the sole repair or replacement of permanent joint seals, however, the Customer will have to bear a part of the incurred approved repair costs (spare parts and labour).The amount of the customer's participation which is paid on a public recommended price basis increases each year as follows:

1. General

1.1 The warranty period begins to run from the first date of registration of the vehicle and does not apply to import vehicles (grey import) nor to vehicles previously used for rental purposes at anytime during the warranty period.

1.2. Contact must initially always be through the selling dealer.

1.3. Auto-Trail VR Ltd through its dealer network will repair or replace all parts and components of the motor home that are included in the warranty free of charge during the first five years and partially under the conditions set out above in the section "years 6 to 10" of the general presentation of the Warranty.

1.4. Any part which is replaced, shall be returned to Auto-Trail using the approved procedures. Should you travel to mainland Europe and encounter a problem with your vehicle, Auto-Trail VR Ltd will endeavor, through your supplying dealer, to assist in the most efficient manner possible. Auto-Trail VR Ltd does not have any dealer representation on the European mainland.

1.5. Any unexpired warranty period can be transferred to subsequent owners, which will incur an administration fee.

Full documentary evidence of respective service history shall be provided before any transfer will be accepted.

1.6. To maintain the warranty, Auto-Trail requires their vehicles to have an annual habitation service and inspection which will include a full damp check. These records must be retained and submitted in the event of a claim. The habitation service should be undertaken at an authorized Auto-Trail dealer, or at an independant service provider with prior apporval. The habitation service should be undertaken within 30 days before or after the vehicles retailed / registration anniversary date and every 12 months thereafter. The annual habitation service and inspection must be registered to Auto-Trail by using the proper procedure. In order to keep the warranty the customer is requested to retain a copy of the service invoice for each year. Failure to comply with these annual service conditions will result in a full cancellation of the Body Construction Integrity Warranty.

1.7. Any repairs that are noted / required after the habitation service, if possible should be carried out within 6 weeks of the notification, after having received prior written approval from Auto-Trail. No replacement component / or repair of component shall be undertaken without the prior written approval from Auto-Trail. No liability will exist with regard to any warranty claims not authorized in this way. Auto-Trail reserve the right to inspect a motor home prior to any work being commenced, or ask that the vehicle be returned to the factory for assessment / repair.

1.8. The required warranty registration forms should be sent to Auto-Trail within 30 days of the vehicle being registered. The responsibility of this lies with the selling dealer.

1.9. The vehicle should only be used for recreational purposes and should not be the permanent residence of the owner or any member of his / her family. The vehicle should not be used for hire, reward or commercial use and race or rally is prohibited.

1.10. The vehicle shall only be used for its intended and ordinary purpose and shall not be subject to any treatment or conditions which could reasonably be forseen to cause or result in damage to the motor home, or cause excessive wear and tear

1.11. Auto-Trails' liability under this warranty, shall be limited to reimbursing the reasonable costs of labour and materials for repair or replacement of faulty parts or components. Any repair work which is deemed to be caused by, or accelarated by negligence, default or incurred as a result of modifications to the vehicle, will not be covered.

  • Auto-Trail will only warrant parts that were part of the vehicles' original specification.
  • Auto-Trail will not warrant components that fail due to normal wear and tear or normal deterioration; this includes light bulbs, tubes or globes, adjustment of door catches and door locks other than routine maintenance and lubrication or paintwork generally.
  • Auto-Trail will not warrant (after the first 5 years) any structural degradation or damage caused by water ingress through a non permanently sealed seam or joint (windows, hatches, doors, roof lights, vents, solar panels, TV cable passages etc).
  • No liability will be accepted for damage caused by neglect, abuse, corrosion, intrusion of foreign substances, lack of servicing, accident, fire, over heating, freezing, overloading or using the vehicle after fault was noticed.
  • No liability will be accepted for water ingress caused by the fitting of a third party (customer, dealer or service agent).
  • No liability will be accepted for any part not covered under the specific part of the vehicles warranty.
  • No liability will be accepted for costs involving the transport of the vehicle to the point of repair.
  • Auto-Trail will only be liable for costs which are a direct result of the issue. No liability will be accepted for any loss or damage (such as loss of revenue, loss of business or profits relating to it), cost expenses, or claims of compensation however arising.
  • Auto-Trail will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any third party regarding death, or personal injury resulting from negligance. Auto-Trail VR Ltd will not be liable in any manner whatsoever, whether in contract, tort, misrepresentation or otherwise for any consequential loss, damage of injury in connection with the supply of any motor home to or execution of work for the purchaser.
  • Auto-Trail VR Ltd's agents, representatives or supplying dealers have no authority to vary the terms of this guarantee.


1.12.
The purchasers' statutory rights which are in addition to this warranty are not affected and still remain.

1.13. The warranty shall be governed by and be regulated in accordance with English law and submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
